Studio Ghibli’s Monthly Newsletter Protests Nuclear Power
Hayao Miyazaki and his Studio Ghibli have long protested against nuclear power. In this month’s issue of Neppū , the studio’s monthly newsletter, “the special theme…is demonstrations of all varieties, including the Occupy Wall Street protests in the United States. Various authors discuss the history of demonstrations and the premise that today’s demonstrations in Paris and elsewhere are part of an ongoing cultural movement.” Almost a year ago Studio Ghibli voiced its opinion on the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant by hanging a banner from the studio’s roof.
